An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring individual to develop their career in the specialised area of District nursing. This opportunity is now available in the Thame/Princes Risborough area to become a Community Nurse within a newly formed team. We are welcoming highly motivated and effective team players, committed to providing a high-quality nursing service within the District Nursing field. We are able to offer a full skills development and preceptorship programme.

As a community nurse, you would be supported to develop into an autonomous practitioner; nursing patients with multiple complex healthcare needs in their own homes.
Community nursing is a specialised area of practice. As a Community Staff Nurse, you will work within a locality team of District Nurse Team Leaders, Community Staff Nurses, Therapists, Assistant Practitioners, and Healthcare Assistants, to meet the needs of complex patients in the community and avoid admissions to acute settings. This includes medication administration, end-of-life care, managing deteriorating patients, complex and simple wound care including negative pressure wound therapy and compression therapy, venipuncture, utilising advanced assessment skills and clinical nursing skills. We nurse people with a variety of conditions in a holistic manner in their own homes and in residential care settings. Community nurses work in close partnership with social care and other primary healthcare professionals such as GPs, Community Therapies, and specialised services like Tissue Viability, Diabetes, and Heart Failure.
