Job summary

NHS Scotland Balivanich Clinic is seeking a Community Nurse – South Team on a permanent, part-time basis (22 hours per week). Band 5 salary £34,544–£43,039 pro rata plus £1,461 pro rata distant islands allowance. The post involves visiting patients at home, focus on prevention and self-management, and on-call/weekend rota.

You will work autonomously within a supportive team across the Isles of Uist, requiring a full UK driving licence and good communication skills.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Uist Community Nursing team which covers the Isles of Uist in the Western Isles. The post holder will be a member of a team of Community Nurses providing nursing care to people in their own homes.

Applicants must have some experience of working within a community nurse setting. This post would be an ideal opportunity for someone to develop their nursing skills and knowledge within a community setting.

The role encompasses a focus on prevention, anticipation and supported self-management to enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives at home or in a homely setting. The post holder will be required to participate in working an on-call and a weekend service on a rota basis. A flexible working approach is required. You will be a car owner/driver with a full UK driving licence.

You will need the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team along with good communication skills.
