Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Community Nurse to join the Community Nursing Service in Scotland. This permanent Band 5 post is 36 hours per week and offers a salary of £34,544–£43,039 per annum plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,461.

The post involves delivering treatment room services and providing care to patients in their homes and across community settings, with weekend work and an on-call rota. A full UK driving licence is required.

The postholder would be expected to provide treatment room services, as well as providing health care for a wide range of patients in their own homes and across all community settings including care homes. Applicants should ideally have some experience of working within the community and will work as an integral part of the Uist community team seeking to deliver a high standard of care to our patients whilst also working to develop and improve the service on a continual basis.

The postholders will predominantly work during office hours but will also take part in weekend working and an overnight on call service on a rota basis. A flexible working approach is required and you will be a car owner/driver with a full UK driving licence.

On-going CPD is essential for this post.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
