Job summary

NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant at Western Isles Hospital, Stornoway. The post is Band 2, 15 hours per week, permanent, with pro rata salary £26,696–£28,988 plus £1,461 Distant Islands Allowance.

Based at Western Isles Hospital, you will rotate between Medical Records and Acute Psychiatry Unit. Training provided in-house; PVG check required; closing date 21/09/2026.

Plus £1,461 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata/per annum

We are looking for a motivated, friendly person who enjoys the challenge of working as part of a team in a changing environment.

Ideally, you have a good general education, experience of working with the public in an administrative role, have demonstrable good communication skills and enjoy working in a busy environment. Computer literacy and attention to detail are essential.

The successful candidate will be based in the Western Isles Hospital, rotating between Medical Records and the Acute Psychiatry Unit.

Training for the position will be provided in-house. This post is subject to Disclosure Scotland checks.
