Job summary

NHS Scotland invites applications for a Community Nurse (Band 5) to deliver healthcare in patients’ homes and across community settings in Uist. The post is permanent and 36 hours per week, with an additional Distant Islands Allowance of £1,461 per annum.

The successful candidate will work mainly during office hours but will rotate to weekend on-call, with a flexible approach and a full UK driving licence required. On-going CPD is essential and PVG registration is necessary.

The postholder would be expected to provide treatment room services, as well as providing health care for a wide range of patients in their own homes and across all community settings including care homes.

Applicants should ideally have some experience of working within the community and will work as an integral part of the Uist community team seeking to deliver a high standard of care to our patients whilst also working to develop and improve the service on a continual basis.

The postholders will predominantly work during office hours but will also take part in weekend working and an overnight on call service on a rota basis. A flexible working approach is required and you will be a car owner/driver with a full UK driving licence.

On going CPD is essential for this post

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
