Job summary

Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a motivated Community Staff Nurse to join our wound care service. The role focuses on reviewing ambulant patients in community clinic settings and delivering high-quality, evidence-based wound care to support safe healing outcomes.

You will manage a varied caseload of complex wounds, perform ABPI studies, compression bandage assessments, and holistic patient evaluations. The team collaborates across services to deliver safe and innovative care.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Experience in wound management and complex wounds.
  • Competent in catheter care and nephrostomy management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments and reviews.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for complex wounds.
  • Carry out ABPI studies and compression bandage assessments.
  • Deliver holistic patient assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise care.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated, confident and clinically skilled Community Staff Nurse to join our specialist wound care service. This role is ideal for a nurse with a passion for wound management, who thrives both independently and within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

You will work within our community clinic settings, reviewing ambulant patients and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to support safe and positive wound-healing outcomes. The role involves managing a varied caseload of complex wounds, utilising tissue viability guidance and vascular oversight to ensure safe, effective and innovative care planning. You will work within our clinic settings, reviewing patients to support positive wound-healing outcomes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include comprehensive wound assessments, wound reviews, treatment planning, ABPI studies, compression bandage assessment and application, and delivering holistic patient assessments.

You will be expected to deliver a consistently high standard of care, demonstrating a proactive approach to clinical practice and utilising innovative, evidence based - care planning to support optimal patient outcomes.

The role also requires competence in catheter care, nephrostomy management, and close collaborative working with wider services. You will work in partnership with patients to ensure a safe, effective and positive patient experience throughout their care journey.
