Job summary

NHS Scotland Balivanich Clinic is seeking a Community Nurse (Band 5) to provide nursing care in patients' homes across the Uist area. The post is 22 hours per week, permanent, with a pro rata salary of £34,544–£43,039 per year plus a distant islands allowance of £1,461 pro rata.

The successful applicant will work as part of the Uist Community Nursing team, potentially on-call and weekends, and must drive a car with a full UK license. A flexible, autonomous, team-based approach is required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Uist Community Nursing team which covers the Isles of Uist in the Western Isles. The post holder will be a member of a team of Community Nurses providing nursing care to people in their own homes.

Applicants must have some experience of working within a community nurse setting. This post would be an ideal opportunity for someone to develop their nursing skills and knowledge within a community setting.

The role encompasses a focus on prevention, anticipation and supported self-management to enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives at home or in a homely setting. The post holder will be required to participate in working an on-call and a weekend service on a rota basis. A flexible working approach is required. You will be a car owner/driver with a full UK driving licence.

You will need the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team along with good communication skills.
