These are just some of the qualities “enthusiastic, motivated, committed” used to describe the nursing staff who thrive in our busy emergency department environment. We promise it won’t be dull, every day is a learning day. There isn’t much we haven’t encountered but as with everything we do, we do it as a team, dealing with things head on and supporting each other through every challenge we face.

Some staff comments are,” immensely proud to work within the fast paced ED, incredibly rewarding, encouraged and supported to progress within the department, ED provides ongoing and up to date training through external study days and in-house training, the team is welcoming and always has a positive outlook despite the many challenges of the environment, the varied multi-disciplinary team working together to provide holistic care to patients, it is a rewarding job that never feels like a chore.”

We asked nursing staff why they loved working in ED and their biggest reason was they all felt part of the ED family. We spend a lot of our time in work, so it’s great to know that this is how our staff feel and it’s definitely our biggest strength.
