Job summary

Freedom Leisure is seeking a Casual Healthy Communities Coach to plan and deliver inclusive sports sessions across the district. You will engage diverse community groups, supervise volunteers, and help implement the Healthy Communities Action Plan.

You will deliver high quality coaching, maintain safety standards, and contribute to CPD while supporting the Healthy Communities Manager. The role offers flexible hours and potential permanent opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 1 or 2 certificate in coaching a sport or equivalent.
• Valid First Aid Certificate.
• Safeguarding and Child protection.
• Experience coaching sports in schools, holiday camps, community clubs or on sports development initiatives.
• Experience coaching/working with children and young people.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to deliver sessions safely and meet participants’ needs.
• Commitment to CPD and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high quality coaching sessions across the district.
• Supervise and coach multi-sports and other sports for children and young people.
• Ensure sessions are suitably planned for all participants including young children and those with additional needs.
• Manage volunteers and attendees of activity sessions.
• Mentor other coaches and assist in planning and delivery of activities.
• Ensure all sessions are safe and follow health and safety policies.
• Maintain detailed attendance records and stay up to date with governing body guidance.
• Support the Healthy Communities Manager in delivering Freedom's Active Communities plan.
