Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic HCPC registered Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community SLT Team in Sefton on a part-time, 12-month fixed-term basis. You will assess, treat and manage adults with communication and swallowing disorders, including home visits, in clinics and nursing homes, under supervision of a Highly Specialist SLT.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, develop person-centred care plans, and contribute to service

Qualifications

Essential: Accredited Speech and Language Therapy qualification (BSc).
Essential: Registration with HCPC.
Essential: Member of the RCSLT.
Essential: Postgraduate training/qualification in Dysphagia.
Essential: Good time management and organizational skills.
Essential: Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

Provide evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention for adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders.
Deliver specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation in various settings (inpatient, home, care homes, clinics).
Act as Care coordinator, ensuring access to generic services and tracking caseloads.
Develop and review person-centred care plans with multidisciplinary teams.
Provide supervision to SLT assistants and support staff.
Deliver staff training on communication strategies and management plans.
