Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (0.8 WTE) to join the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service. The role covers community settings in Knowsley and St Helens, with a diverse caseload including dysphagia and communication difficulties.

You will work within a well-established team, receive regular clinical supervision, and have opportunities for professional development while delivering patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Accredited Speech and Language Therapy qualification (BSc).
• Registration with HCPC.
• Post graduate training/qualification in Dysphagia.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation for adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
• Independently manage and prioritise a complex caseload across community and inpatient settings.
• Deliver education and supervision to junior staff and assistants.
• Contribute to waiting list management and service priorities.
• Support and supervise SLT assistants and students as required.
