Job summary

Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking a skilled Community Safety professional to develop and coordinate community safety strategies, projects and interventions across Bath and North East Somerset. Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of local community safety issues.
• Knowledge of community safety policies, legislation, and council processes.
• Experience planning and delivering community safety projects.
• Experience commissioning and monitoring services from external agencies.
• Ability to plan and manage own workload.
• Ability to influence, persuade, and engage with communities using empathy.
• Committed to inclusive, preventative and victim-centred approaches
• Motivated by public service and delivering positive outcomes for residents

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and deliver community safety strategies, projects and interventions for Bath and North East Somerset.
• Lead on complex and high-risk anti-social behaviour and community safety issues using specialist problem-solving and enforcement approaches.
• Collaborate with residents, partners and agencies to reduce harm and protect residents.
• Support the Council’s statutory community safety responsibilities and promote safer communities.
