We are seeking motivated and passionate Community Safety Intervention Officers to work with individuals, families, and communities to reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB), improve safety, and create positive outcomes.

In this rewarding role, you will manage ASB cases from report to resolution, carrying out investigations, risk assessments, and targeted interventions to support victims and address community concerns. You will work closely with residents, elected members, and partner agencies to deliver effective, place-based solutions that reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

Working as part of Local Community Safety Partnerships, you will help tackle complex social issues through prevention, early intervention, safeguarding, and problem-solving approaches, ensuring vulnerable individuals receive the right support at the right time.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about community safety and committed to improving the lives of local people.

What you'll do...
  • Manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases from report to resolution.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments to prioritise support and interventions.
  • Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and maintain accurate case records.
  • Build evidence packages and support legal and enforcement action where required.
  • Deliver a victim-focused service, providing support to vulnerable individuals.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals.
  • Work with police, housing, social care, schools, and other partners to resolve issues.
  • Use prevention, early intervention, and enforcement approaches to reduce ASB and crime.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to tackle recurring neighbourhood issues and hotspots.
  • Contribute to Local Community Safety Partnerships and place-based interventions.
  • Engage with residents, community groups, and stakeholders to build confidence and improve community safety.
  • Prepare reports and use data to inform decisions and drive positive outcomes.
What you'll need...

We're looking for a proactive and resilient professional with experience in community safety, ASB, housing, safeguarding, or a related field. You'll be passionate about supporting communities, confident managing complex cases, and able to work collaboratively to deliver positive outcomes for residents.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of managing anti-social behaviour (ASB), community safety, housing, safeguarding, enforcement, or related casework.
  • Strong investigation skills with the ability to gather evidence, assess risk, and manage complex cases.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable individuals and applying a victim-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and confidence in identifying and escalating concerns.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with partners, communities, and stakeholders.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to tackle complex community safety issues.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience of preparing reports, maintaining accurate records, and using data to support decision-making.
  • Knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation and community safety practices would be advantageous.

Bring your skills, passion, and commitment to community safety and join a team dedicated to delivering meaningful outcomes for Birmingham residents every day. Together, we can help build safer and more resilient communities.
