Birmingham City Council is hiring a Community Safety Intervention Officer to join the Community Safety Team. The role is permanent, graded at C, with a salary range of £36,581 to £45,529 and a 36.5-hour week.

The post involves managing ASB cases end-to-end, carrying out risk assessments, investigations, and targeted interventions to support victims and address community concerns. Collaboration with partners is essential to deliver place-based solutions that improve safety across Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing anti-social behaviour, community safety, housing, safeguarding, or related casework.
• Strong investigation skills to gather evidence, assess risk and manage complex cases.
• Experience of working with vulnerable individuals and applying a victim-focused approach.
• Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and ability to identify and escalate concerns.
• Ability to build relationships and work with partners, communities, and stakeholders.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset to tackle complex community safety issues.
• Strong organisation skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse audiences.
• Experience preparing reports and using data to inform decisions.

Responsabilités

• Manage ASB cases from report to resolution.
• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments to prioritise support and interventions.
• Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and maintain accurate case records.
• Build evidence packages and support legal and enforcement action where required.
• Deliver a victim-focused service, providing support to vulnerable individuals.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals.
• Work with police, housing, social care, schools, and other partners to resolve issues.
• Use prevention, early intervention, and enforcement approaches to reduce ASB and crime.
• Prepare reports and use data to inform decisions.
