Job summary

Bradford Children and Families Trust is seeking a Community Resource Worker to support social workers working with parents in pre-proceedings where domestic abuse concerns exist. You will deliver intensive, trauma-informed interventions and coordinate personalised support for families, helping parents build resilience and safer futures.

The role is fully frontline, requiring hands-on engagement with parents and building trusted relationships.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills with families and professionals.
  • A valid driving licence with access to a car and business insurance.
  • Experience using trauma-informed approaches to support parents.

Responsibilities

  • Direct work with parents to understand domestic abuse drivers and supports.
  • Attend formulation meetings to identify needs and intervention required.
  • Coordinate delivery of individualised support packages for parents.
  • Review impact of interventions and adjust plans accordingly.

You will be supporting Social Workers working with parents in pre-proceedings where domestic abuse is a concern and there have a child either under one or who are expecting a baby.The Born into Care research revealed a concerning rise in newborns entering care proceedings, with cases in England and Wales increasing. Also, troubling were statistics showing that in 2019/20, 86.3% of newborn cases in England and 74.8% in Wales involved short-notice hearings.A significant proportion of these parents were also in care as children. Broadhurst et al. (2017) found that 40% of mothers experiencing recurrent care proceedings had looked after status as children.
