Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Cobham and Oxshott Primary Care Network within Surrey Downs Health and Care. You will work mainly with Physiotherapists, and closely with OT and nursing staff, in a community setting across home visits and clinics.

Full training will be provided; prior community experience is preferred but not essential. A valid driver’s license or access to transport is important for visits to patients in their

Qualifications

• Experience in community healthcare is advantageous.
• Full training will be provided.
• Not suitable for qualified Physiotherapists.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Car owner/driver preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry own patient caseload under guidance of a qualified therapist.
• Undertake specific skilled support work to aid rehabilitation at home.
• Enable effective rehabilitation teamwork and communication with relatives and carers.
• Participate in creating patient‑centred rehabilitation and promote healthy lifestyles.
• Support clinicians with admin tasks, audits, and information gathering.
• Support or lead teaching classes for outpatient patients; training provided.
• Be competent in prescribing small aids under supervision.
