Job summary

St John Ambulance is seeking a Community Projects Officer to lead high-impact local initiatives across Youth, Fundraising, Events and Education. You will collaborate with county teams, volunteers, and partners to translate national priorities into practical, accessible local solutions and to strengthen volunteer experiences.

You will manage the project lifecycle, monitor outcomes, and help deliver a One St John culture focused on impact and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering and managing projects or initiatives, ideally in volunteer-involving organisations, with ability to plan, monitor, and achieve measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate local projects aligned with national strategy.
• Work across Youth, Fundraising, Events, and Education to address challenges and improve community impact.
• Involve volunteers throughout the project lifecycle, supporting development, recognition, leadership, and inclusive participation.
• Build strong relationships with volunteers, staff, County Council, and partners to foster a ‘One St John’ culture and ensure project success.
• Tailor national initiatives for local needs, ensuring accessibility and alignment with volunteer and community requirements.
• Monitor KPIs, manage risks, and ensure projects deliver measurable impact using organisational systems and tools.
• Share learning, resolve issues, sustain successful initiatives, and promote St John values in all activities.
