Following the successful bid to the National Lottery for funding, JWCC will create a Community Partnership Hub which will have positive impact on the health and wellbeing of local people by creating a health and wellbeing hub where people can get support, find a job, make friends, access training or some preventative activities that can support them long term. This will be achieved by working in partnership with various organisations such as the Primary Care Network and local council.
Job Overview
Based at the community centre in Binley, Coventry, the Community Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for working with the Community Centre Manager to ensure the successful delivery and development of a Community Partnership Hub. It is the pivotal role of this project and will entail the development of project plans, partnerships, financial management and responsibility for the key outcomes and evaluations associated with projects. You will ensure that all projects are inclusive and delivered to a high quality standard, to client specifications, budget, and timescales. In addition you will be required to line manage volunteers in compliance with defined policies and procedures.
- This role is a 3 year fixed contract and may involve working evenings
and/or weekends. It is a full time position of 37 hours per week Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work as required.
Salary circa £30,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- To Develop project plans, timelines, within budget; identify resources and needs; and implement project activities
- To Build and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and other stakeholders; facilitate communication and collaboration.
- To Track project progress, assess outcomes, and prepare reports to demonstrate impact and inform future planning.
- To Actively participate in community events, meetings, and initiatives to build relationships and promote project goals.
- To Work collaboratively with project teams, partners, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- To Collect and analyze data to inform project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- To Create and implement effective administrative processes as required to achieve project deliverables, reporting and evaluation.
- To Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project progress and outcomes.
- To Identify and address challenges and issues that arise during project implementation.
- To Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- To Oversee and be actively involved in activity programme planning and session planning to ensure that they meet minimum standards, outputs, the needs of clients and partners.
- To Coordinate a range of community and activities with a focus on health and wellbeing.
- To Develop appropriate partnerships with various organisations and agencies across Coventry, including engaging with project stakeholders, community groups, voluntary organisations, employers, and statutory bodies.
- To Work within strict budgets and financial deadlines.
- To Ensure that all activities are undertaken in line with JWCC health and safety policies and procedures, including undertaking risk assessments.
- To prepare and submit internal plans / reports as well as claims and reports to funders, record keeping and monitoring to meet funders’ and Finance department requirements.
- To Liaise with Partnership teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
- To Assist in the development of projects to support the business plan, including identifying and securing appropriate funding to support where possible.
- To Ensure that projects and programmes are effectively evaluated and recorded to support both continuous improvement and also marketing opportunities.
- To Ensure all paperwork, (including project monitoring, evaluation, participant data, risk assessment forms, safeguarding and incident/accident report forms) are kept up to date and inputted accurately in a timely manner and to the required standard for JWCC and its Partners.
- To Be alert to the safeguarding of children, adult and vulnerable persons - raising issues and concerns directly in line with the JWCC policies and procedures.
- Educated to A level or NVQ 3 or equivalent
- Full driving licence with access to own car, (use of own vehicle for business purposes and willingness to travel as required).
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Word and Excel and other Google Suite applications as well as ability to use social media platforms.
Other:
- Experience of managing and delivering a broad range of community and environment based projects
- Knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing both disadvantaged communities and the local environment.
- Proven experience of planning and delivering projects to agreed budgets and timescales, including staff co-ordination and their development.
- Have excellent numerical skill
- Experience in marketing, social media and video making platforms for business purposes.
- Experience in community engagement, motivation and involvement techniques and methods.
- Experience in working with local health authorities is an advantage.
- An understanding and awareness of the importance of safeguarding adults and children along with the knowledge around procedures to follow.
- Eligible to legally work in the UK

- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with a variety of people internal and external to the JWCC.
- Ability to work to deadlines, dealing with competing demands and to prioritise own work programmes.
- Ability to relate to and motivate diverse groups of individuals with varying needs and issues and / those that live in disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

Personal characteristics:
- The Co-ordinator will have a strong commitment to helping members of the community and get involved with the Centre’s activities as necessary.
- The Co-ordinator will also need to be self-reliant, energetic, able to work on their own initiative and to prioritise activities.
