Job summary

Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust aims to recruit clinicians with experience in working with children and young people. The post requires autonomous work within a multidisciplinary team and active participation in multi-agency meetings, risk management, and transition work.

Training and supervision are available through our internal programme, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people in mental health settings.

Responsibilities

• Carry a complex caseload of young people requiring therapeutic interventions.
• Provide training and clinical supervision/support to the wider team.
• Attend multi-agency meetings and risk management group.
• Support transition work and audits as appropriate, liaising with parents, carers and partners.
• Offer advice, guidance on strategies, and signposting to local services.
• Produce reports and develop clinical formulations; engage in reflective practice.

EXCITING OPPORTUNITY WITHIN NORTHUMBERLAND CYPS

The Children and Young People’s Service provide an integrated service for children with persistent, moderate to severe mental health concerns, who have received a previous targeted intervention from other services and have shown little or no improvement.

We deliver a wide range of evidence based interventions through clearly defined care pathways. Development opportunities can be accessed via our comprehensive internal training programme. We have a robust supervision structure for staff, alongside peer support.

Our Mental Health pathway undertakes assessment and intervention to children and young people with complex mental health needs, including anxiety, low mood, self-harm and trauma. Clinicians will work within a collaboratively care planned approach, should be able to work autonomously and within a multi- disciplinary team.

We are keen to recruit clinicians with experience in working with children and young people, and who can work collaboratively with partner agencies.

• Carrying a complex caseload of young people requiring therapeutic interventions.
