Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in Newport is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Community Resource Team on a permanent basis. The CRT delivers a hospital at home service, and our Physiotherapy role supports seamless patient journeys across community settings.

You will be part of an integrated team with Therapists, Support Staff and Nursing staff, working with banded colleagues to provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Specialist training/experience to post‑grad level or equivalent

Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist with a wide range of clinical skills to join Newport Community Resource Team on a permanent basis. The team is an integrated one, made up of Therapists, Support Staff and Nursing staff. It is a well-established, friendly, innovative team providing community based services across the Newport Borough.

The CRT provides a hospital at home service and the Physiotherapy role is a vital one in working with individuals to ensure a seamless service in their journey. The successful post holder will be supported by the other Band 6's and Band 7 Physiotherapist within the team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Specialist training/experience in specialist field to post‑grad level or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience
Desirable criteria
  • Completion of Clinical Educators Course or equivalent
  • Appropriate range of postgrad clinical education
  • MCSP
Experience
Essential criteria
  • Broad range of clinical experience through a comprehensive rotation program
  • Rotation into the speciality
  • Experience of participating in and delivery in‑service training programmes
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of having worked in the UK as a HCPC registered Physio
  • Evidence of working unsupervised
  • Evidence of participating in or contributing to service development projects
Skills
Essential criteria
  • The ability to discuss the clinical reasoning process in the management of routine cases
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Awareness of relevant national and local clinical guidelines
  • Commitment to research

Essential criteria
  • The ability to move between sites within the Health Board or patients residences as demanded by the job role
