Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking a Physiotherapist to join the multidisciplinary team. You will deliver inpatient rehabilitation as part of an in-reach model to Brecon Hospital and independently manage a community caseload across South Powys.

The post involves mentoring junior staff and students, contributing to service development, and participating in a 7-day service with weekend roster commitments. Flexibility and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Registered physiotherapist with BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and HPC registration.
  • Evidence of post-graduate study and CPD portfolio.
  • Broad knowledge of physiotherapy techniques across treatments.
  • Experience in NHS settings; ability to work autonomously and mentor others.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver inpatient rehab as part of an in-reach model to Brecon Hospital.
  • Manage a community caseload across South Powys independently.
  • Contribute to service development and mentorship of junior staff and students.
  • Work within the MDT and participate in weekend rosterings.

Job description

Are you looking for a new challenge? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy service working across beautiful South Powys., GenericTo work as an integral and active part of the therapy and multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the therapy team in the efficient provision of a patient centred service. Role specificMain responsibilities include delivering inpatient rehab as part of an in-reach model to Brecon Hospital, in addition to managing a community caseload independently across South Powys . The base will be Brecon hospital. You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and negotiation skills to motivate patients and staff to deliver high standards of care. To contribute to service development, mentorship of junior staff, student physiotherapists and delegation of rehabilitation plans to enable active rehabilitation. The team provide a 7-day service and all staff are expected to be part of the weekend roster. Be flexible at times of increased demand to the service. To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of community therapy service, having responsibility of defined projects., Please see attached Job description and person specification for further information regarding the role and the essential and desirable criteria required to be met by applicants. We are looking for a person who wants to work within a motivated and enthusiastic team whose priority is to provide community rehabilitation. You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and negotiation skills to motivate patients and staff to deliver high standards of care. You will work closely as part of an MDT within PTHB and Social services, the award winning Virtual ward and support integration., This post requires the successful applicant to be able to work in in the community and therefore you will require the ability to travel in a timely manner between rural sites where there is limited or no public transport.,

  • BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
  • HPC registration
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate study and personal development - CPD portfolio Membership of CSP
  • Broad working knowledge of Physiotherapy techniques across all aspects of treatment
  • High level of knowledge and skills appropriate to the specialist clinical area
  • Ability to keep legible, clear and concise notes, Significant experience working within the specialist clinical area
  • Previous senior experience
  • Working with Junior staff/ assistants/ students and developing other staff, both formally and informally
  • Evidence of Involvement in research/ audit, Experience of working in the NHS as a physiotherapist, Work independently / autonomous decision maker and work collaboratively within the physiotherapy team and with the wider MDT
  • Cope with moderate physical exertion throughout the working day
  • Work under pressure
  • Good presentation / teaching skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self motivated
  • Committed to personal and team development
  • Active professional involvement e.g. H&S, branch network, Some ability to speak, read and / or write Welsh. or and eagerness to learn, Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner Being the smallest Heath Board in Wales means that you won't get lost in the crowd.
