Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking a motivated Community Technician to join our Community Nursing Team, covering Fakenham, Wells, Holt and Sheringham. The role involves visiting patients at home and supporting four GP surgeries in our rural North Norfolk patch.

Responsibilities include blood sampling, phlebotomy training, IT system usage, and collaboration with trust staff and external agencies to deliver integrated community care.

Qualifications

• GCSEs with grade C or above in English, Maths and Science.
• Experience in a care setting is preferred.
• Phlebotomy training or hands-on experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collection of blood samples from patients in accordance with procedures.
• Ensure blood samples are correctly identified using ICE labels or clear handwriting.
• Carry out INR capillary sampling following SOPs.
• Undertake ECGs in line with policy and ensure samples reach the lab on time.
• Collaborate with health professionals and agencies for integrated care.
• Print blood requests using ICE and maintain accurate records.
