Job summary

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Community Phlebotomist to join the Domiciliary Phlebotomy Service. The post requires venous blood sampling in community settings, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively. A vehicle and business insurance are essential for travel between sites.

The role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, with a shift rota over five days. DBS clearance is required and training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain venous samples
• IT literate; able to input data on electronic systems
• Experience in clinical practice obtaining venous blood samples
• NVQ level 3 or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Carry out venepuncture requests on patients in the community
• Able to work independently and manage daily workload
• Communicate clearly, both written and verbal; use IT systems
• Prioritise tasks and be familiar with routine blood tests and their clinical importance
• Work on a shift rota over five days a week
• Able to access work locations within short timescales
