Job summary

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a registered nurse for a 12-month fixed-term post in the out-of-hours community nursing service. The role covers unplanned home visits from 7pm to 8am as part of the out-of-hours GP service and Rapid Response team, with up to 27.5 hours per week across night and twilight shifts.

You will record notes in real time on a laptop and smartphone, use a vehicle for work, and must be NMC registered with current CPD.

Qualifications

• Qualified nurse with degree or diploma in nursing.
• Evidence of CPD activity.
• Post-registration experience.

Job description

This fixed-term post runs for 12 months within the out of hours community nursing service of Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. The work is unplanned nursing care for patients at home from 7pm to 8am, working alongside the out of hours GP service and the Rapid Response team. Hours run up to 27.5 a week across night and twilight shifts, including some weekends and bank holidays, with mobile working on a laptop and smartphone. Fit depends on NMC registration, and the post cannot be sponsored for a visa.

What’s required

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• Evidence of continued professional development

Registration & licences

• Registered Nurse with NMC

Experience

• Relevant post-registration experience
• Experience of working autonomously within a developing area and professional scope of practice

Skills & knowledge

• Knowledge and understanding of clinical issues

Checks & eligibility

• Driving licence for use of vehicle for work purposes
