Job summary

NCIC in Copeland is recruiting a Band 5 Community Staff Nurse to join our rural and remote healthcare team. The post is based at Flat Walks Health Centre (North Team) or Cleator Moor Health Centre (South Team) and supports patients in the community and in their homes.

We welcome experienced or newly qualified nurses who want to develop skills in community care, risk management, and multidisciplinary collaboration with Primary Care, Social Care and third sector partners.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current UK registration.
• Experience in community nursing preferred or newly qualified.
• Ability to assess and manage risk and deliver care.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise referrals and manage workload.
• Assess, monitor and continually evaluate risk in patient care situations.
• Deliver and evaluate all aspects of clinical nursing care.
• Use equipment to aid assessment and delivery of treatment (Doppler, Syringe Driver, enteral feeding).
• Carry out clinical duties involving venepuncture, wound care, catheterisation, and tracheostomy care.
• Obtain samples for diagnostic purposes (venepuncture, swabs, urine, stool).
• Educate patients and carers to promote independence and rehabilitation using case management.
• Deliver end-of-life care following recognised care pathways.
• Maintain knowledge of medications and their effects; review and monitor prescribing.
• Communicate closely with patients and all parties involved in care.
• Order and manage specialist nursing equipment.
