Job summary

Your Healthcare in Kingston is seeking committed staff nurses for community nursing home visits in residents' homes. You will deliver high-quality nursing care, including wound and catheter care, medication administration and end-of-life support. A car is essential for travel between homes, with a mix of early and weekend shifts.

A preceptorship and ongoing training are available. Newly qualified nurses are welcomed, with opportunities for development within a specialist community team serving

Qualifications

  • RN registration with the NMC is essential.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development or aspirational PD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to service users in their own homes.
  • Wound care, catheter management and medication administration.
  • New assessment and end of life care.
  • Complete risk assessments and liaise with GPs and other health professionals.
  • Lone working with access to a car for travel to service users' homes.
  • Travel to other sites as required.

We require ambitious, hardworking and enthusiastic nurses to join our community nursing service in Kingston. Working as part of a team you would be delivering high quality nursing care to clients in their own homes. We provide a preceptorship program to support you in your role and ongoing training and development. Newly qualified staff welcome. You need to be a car driver with your own vehicle. Flexibility is essential as you will be working a variety of shifts including weekends. If you can think on your feet and are well organised, then this is the job for you. This is a permanent post, can be full time or part time. The usual working hours are 08.30 til 16:30 and will be Monday Friday. This role will be required to work weekends 1 in 3 and some late shifts from 11am til 7pm. You will be mostly based at Hollyfield House although you will also need to be able to travel to our other sites as needed., Providing nursing care to service users in their own homes. This can include wound care, catheter management, medication administration, new assessment and end of life care. Completing risk assessments, ordering equipment, liaison with GPs and other health care professionals. Although part of a team, you will be lone working and access to a car of means of travel to service users homes is essential.   • Knowledge of NMC Code of Conduct, Scope of Professional practice and Revalidation.
  • Knowledge of Primary Care and the role of Community Nursing
  • Evidence of Research based practice.
  • Knowledge of the value of clinical supervision
  • Demonstrates application of theory to clinical skills used in daily practice e.g. catheter care, wound care, Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Confidence in establishing a rapport with clients, team members and other agencies
  • IT skills
  • Team player and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision, Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a high standard of personal performance
  • Team player, Full and current GB driving license with access to and regular use of a car
  • Able to work weekends/bank holidays as required, Nursing experience in the last year
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team, Experience post registration within a variety of core areas e.g. Continence
