Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospital Trust is seeking a Band 7 Community Team Leader Midwife to lead the community midwifery service on a fixed-term basis. The role combines clinical leadership with supervision of colleagues and involvement in homebirth on-call services.

You will contribute to Pan-London initiatives and maternity transformation projects while ensuring safe, woman-centred care across the community setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with registration and active practice.
• Degree in midwifery or equivalent and ongoing CPD.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• NIPE course completion is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure midwifery practice is evidence-based and woman-centred.
• Lead and supervise community midwifery team while supporting junior staff.
• Assess, develop, implement and evaluate care for women, baby and family.
• Provide expert midwifery advice to the multidisciplinary team.
