Job summary

Academics Ltd is recruiting a Community Mentor for an Alternative Provision based in High Wycombe. You will deliver 1:1 educational and pastoral support in homes and community settings, helping pupils with SEN, SEMH, autism, ADHD and anxiety re-engage with learning.

Applicants from teaching, tutoring, mentoring, outreach, youth work or social care backgrounds are welcome. A full UK driving licence and own vehicle are essential, with travel across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Background in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, outreach, youth work, pastoral care or social care.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential).
• Flexibility to travel across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 educational and pastoral support in homes and community settings.
• Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD and anxiety.
• Deliver personalised learning and engagement activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
• Monitor progress and liaise with schools and professionals.
