Job summary

Angus Council in Arbroath and Montrose areas is seeking a dedicated care worker to provide frontline support to tenants with severe mental health needs in their own homes. You will help with daily living tasks and enable access to services within the community.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work unsupervised, and sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable people. A 24/7 shift pattern is required, with early, mid, late and night duties, plus training is provided.

Qualifications

• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Experience of working with people with a mental health diagnosis.
• Experience of carrying out personal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with daily living tasks and help service users maintain social contacts.
• Assist service users to maintain their tenancy and to use available services and information.
• Participate in ongoing assessment and review of service users' needs.
• Work 30 hours per week in the community and be flexible to shift patterns.
