Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Community Maternity Support Worker to join the Riverside Midwifery Team in Totnes. This part-time role (21 hours weekly) includes weekend work and delivers safe, evidence-based care for mothers and babies within the community.

The post requires Level 3 NVQ/Apprenticeship or equivalent, maternity unit experience and breastfeeding training, with induction provided.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/ Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a Maternity Unit.
• Breast feeding training.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care for mothers and babies.
• Assist in providing high-quality care to mothers and babies.
• Undertake tasks not requiring midwifery training and report deviations to the midwife.
• Carry out delegated tasks once training is given.
