Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a flexible Community Library Assistant to cover shifts across the district, including Central Library, Cambridge and other branches. The role involves front-line public service, promoting library offerings, and assisting in events such as Rhymetime and Storytime.

Applicants should be able to travel to multiple libraries, adapt to varied duties, and deliver friendly service to diverse communities.

Qualifications

Experience delivering high-quality customer service.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Welcoming and friendly manner with diverse customers.
Ability to promote library services and events.
Willingness to travel between district libraries.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, efficient, customer-facing front-line public services to library users.
Promote and deliver the library offer to the community.
Support library events and activities, including Rhymetime and Storytime sessions.
Assist in delivery of partnership initiatives and outreach work.
Potentially support the UK Visa and Immigration Biometrics verification service training will be given.
