Job summary

Cambridgeshire Libraries is seeking a Community Library Assistant for Cambourne Library. The role focuses on welcoming customers, supporting volunteers, and assisting with library operations.

You will work across district libraries as needed, with access to a vehicle, and undertake duties including using the library management system and handling cash. This is a part-time, 11-hour post with pro rata pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing public service is desirable.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel to other libraries within the district.
• Ability to work evenings or weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly and welcoming library space for customers and volunteers.
• Assist with front-line customer care and use library systems.
• Support stock requests, circulation procedures and cash handling.
• Collaborate with partners and volunteers and work across multiple library locations.
