Job summary

A national healthcare service is seeking a Community Learning Disability Nurse to join their established Community Nursing Team in Nottingham. The role requires managing a busy caseload while providing assessment, treatment, and support for individuals with diverse needs. Candidates must hold a Nursing degree in Learning Disabilities and be registered with the NMC. Ideal applicants should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, as well as experience in supervising staff. A full UK driving licence is required.

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Learning Disability Nurse to work within West CIDT, covering Mansfield and Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. The main base will be Portland Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

The Intellectual Disabilities Service, Specialist Services Directorate provides specialist NHS services to people for whom mainstream services cannot meet their needs. We are seeking a Nurse to join our well established Community Nursing Team.

Job responsibilities

  • Applicants must be an RNLD, have a Diploma in Learning Disability Nursing and be registered with the NMC.
  • Manage a busy caseload autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Provide assessment, treatment and support to individuals in the community experiencing physical, mental or behavioural challenges.
  • Work with patients, families, carers, social care and external providers.
  • Participate fully as a multidisciplinary team member working in partnership with social care and voluntary/independent sector providers.
  • Survey the full range of nursing duties and assess physical and mental health needs.

Job qualifications

Professional Qualification (Learning Disabilities) to degree level or equivalent. Maintains current registration with the NMC.

Experience

Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding. Specialist and area specific experience, additional role specific training completed, supervision training completed / experience of supervising staff.

Contractual Requirements

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post. Reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
