Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. You will lead nursing care for people with learning disabilities, planning and evaluating interventions across services at Leatherhead and Redhill.

The role requires travel between sites, a valid driving licence, and the ability to work collaboratively with nurses and other clinicians to deliver high quality health interventions and support mental wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Lead nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for people with learning disabilities.
• Mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students.
• Participate in recruitment, deployment and management of staff.
• Specialist nursing skills in crisis intervention, communication, mental health needs, epilepsy, medication management and challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Join an innovative multidisciplinary team delivering high quality health interventions.
• Collaborate with nurses, clinicians and partner agencies across Leatherhead and Redhill.
• Travel between sites is required; hold a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Job description

• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care needs of people with learning disabilities who use our services, taking the role of lead clinician for a person with learning disabilities as appropriate.


• o To mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including student.


• To participate in the recruitment, deployment and management of staff.


• To demonstrate expertise and specialist nursing skills in areas associated with learning disability such as crisis intervention, alternative communication, the assessment and management of people with additional mental health needs, epilepsy, medication management, challenging behaviour and other conditions.

As a team we continually strive to develop, and we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse to join our dynamic multi- disciplinary service. The successful applicant will be joining an innovative team of nurses providing high quality health interventions as part of the wider forward thinking, diverse multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively/jointly with nurses and other professional clinicians as well as multiple agencies. The team has 2 bases, Leatherhead and Redhill and there will be an expectation of travel between sites. Due to the community aspect of the role, you must hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle.
