Job summary

Essex County Council's Adult Community Learning department seeks a Community Trainer to deliver inclusive learning across Essex. You will plan and assess sessions, delivering English, maths, digital skills and wellbeing to adults, embedding core skills where appropriate.

You’ll build confidence, support progression, adapt to diverse needs and collaborate with partners, promoting inclusive learning and safeguarding in all activities.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification or working towards it (AET/PTLLS or equivalent).
• Experience delivering learning to adults in community, outreach or education settings.
• Inclusive and learner-centred teaching practice.
• Ability to build relationships with learners and partners.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess community learning sessions tailored to learner needs.
• Deliver entry-level and community programmes including English, maths, digital skills, employability and wellbeing.
• Embed English, maths and digital skills where appropriate.
• Support learners to build confidence, wellbeing and progression.
• Adapt teaching to diverse learners and assess progress through reviews.
• Collaborate with community partners to recruit and engage learners.
• Participate in outreach events and promote ACL courses.
