Job summary

The Salvation Army Lincoln Corps is seeking a part-time cook on a fixed-term contract for two years. You will prepare and cook hot lunches for our clients in a community catering service, delivering good quality meals in a friendly, supportive environment while working to high health and safety standards.

Working pattern: Monday 9am-11am; Wednesday and Friday 9am-2pm. Interview date: Tuesday 24 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing and serving food in a commercial kitchen.
• Proficiency in English and clear communication.
• Ability to supervise volunteers and train where needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare healthy, nutritious lunches for clients.
• Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Supervise volunteer assistants and coordinate with staff.
• Engage with clients and external stakeholders to meet community needs.
