Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Housing Interventions Worker to join the Community Team in Pontypridd. This full-time, permanent role offers £26,000 per year and focuses on holistic housing assessments, personalised housing plans, and tenancy sustainment to prevent homelessness.

You will liaise with social care, mental health teams and landlords, maximise clients’ incomes, and respond to emergencies with safeguarding in mind. A rewarding position making a tangible community impact.

Qualifications

• Holistic Assessments: Identify risk factors related to housing, affordability and support needs.
• Personalised Housing Plans: Create actionable plans aligned with Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Tenancy Sustainment: Provide outreach support for independent tenancy and budgeting.
• Multi-Agency Liaison: Work with social care, mental health teams and landlords.
• Income & Benefits Maximisation: Help clients maximise income and reduce evictions risk.
• Crisis Intervention & Safeguarding: Respond to emergencies and ensure safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Personalised Housing Plans: Collaborate with clients to create actionable plans in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, aiming to prevent or relieve homelessness.
• Tenancy Sustainment: Provide outreach support to clients, equipping them with essential life skills for maintaining an independent tenancy, from budgeting to understanding utility bills.
• Multi-Agency Liaison: Work hand-in-hand with partners like social care, mental health teams, and local landlords to establish a solid support network for clients.
• Income & Benefits Maximisation: Guide clients in navigating the UK’s welfare system to maximise their income and reduce the risk of financial evictions.
• Crisis Intervention & Safeguarding: Tackle emergency housing situations promptly and ensure safeguarding measures are in place for vulnerable individuals.
