Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting a Housing Interventions Worker in Merthyr Tydfil for a full-time permanent role within the Community Team. The salary is £26,000 per annum and offers the chance to help individuals involved with the criminal justice system secure and sustain stable accommodation with a focus on reducing homelessness and offending behavior.

You will conduct housing assessments, develop personalised support plans, provide one-to-one housing advice, source accommodation, and work

Qualifications

• Experience in housing support, homelessness services, or community-based work.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy sustainment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple agencies and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage caseloads.
• Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct housing assessments to identify needs and risks.
• Develop personalised support plans to prevent homelessness.
• Provide one-to-one housing advice and interventions.
• Engage with landlords and housing providers to secure accommodations.
• Assist clients with tenancy preparation and budgeting.
• Work with probation, local authorities and housing organisations.
• Signpost to services including mental health and employment support.
• Attend multi-agency meetings to coordinate interventions.
• Uphold safeguarding and promote safe working practices.
