Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a Talk Community Health & Wellbeing Trainer to join the Talk Community Healthy Lifestyle Team. The role delivers interventions across smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol reduction and physical activity, using proven behaviour change techniques with individuals and groups.

The post requires transport access and some travel across the county with flexible working to meet client needs. Interview on 15 October 2026; closing date 11 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in community health programmes and promoting healthy lifestyles.
• Ability to deliver motivational change in groups and 1-2-1 sessions.
• Comfort with developing and delivering health behaviour training.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Deliver support for health behaviours including brief interventions and initial assessments.
• Develop and facilitate training programmes for health behaviour change.
• Provide ongoing support using proven behaviour change techniques.
• Work with diverse client groups and be willing to travel across the county.
