Job summary

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice seeks a strategic Community Fundraiser to lead engagement with education settings, local clubs, and businesses, expanding support and income while upholding supporter care.

Relationship Development & External Representation Build meaningful connections with regional groups such as schools, youth services, local clubs, and independent businesses to broaden awareness and inspire support. Represent the hospice at community meetings, outreach events, and speaking engagements, promoting opportunities for involvement. Embed tailored stewardship practices that respond to the needs and motivations of different supporter types. 4. Income Innovation & Campaign Support Oversee a varied calendar of community-driven activity and champion cross promotion of all fundraising initiatives enabling Bluebell Wood as a standout charity within the region. Work collaboratively with the marketing team to deliver communication approaches that deepen supporter loyalty and encourage long-term giving. 5. Volunteer & Ambassador Engagement Work closely with the volunteering team to attract, induct, and support individuals who assist with community fundraising. Develop and nurture Community Ambassadors who can advocate for the hospice within their networks. 6. Data, Compliance & Evaluation Ensure interactions with supporters are recorded accurately and that all stewardship is timely and appropriate. Use reporting tools and data insights to inform best practice, planning, evaluate performance, and identify growth areas.

Skills, Experience & Education

Essential Strategic thinker with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver compelling pitches. Proven track record of strategic income generation with a creative and innovative approach. Significant experience in community fundraising and relationship management. Demonstrable success in securing and managing community partnerships. Proven experience of working within financial budgets and KPIs Knowledge of fundraising regulations, GDPR, and best practice guidelines. Strong ability to build relationships and sustainable networks as well as create new opportunities. Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, plus Zoom Conferencing (to intermediate level) Ability to research, identify, and develop new business opportunities. Desirable Knowledge of Fundraising codes of practice and sector legalities Strong understanding of CSR principles and community engagement strategies. Experience of leading a small team. Other Legally entitled to work in this country Prepared to work evenings and weekends and some unsociable hours Full driving licence with access to a reliable vehicle and business insurance cover
