Job summary

The National Trust is seeking a passionate Community, Participation and Volunteering Coordinator to help shape how local people, volunteers and groups connect with nature, culture and history across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

You'll build partnerships, support volunteers and create meaningful participation opportunities, working closely with the Community, Participation and Volunteering Manager to welcome people from all backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of community engagement and participatory practice.
• Experience in increasing community participation and developing inclusive opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to coach and support others, and work collaboratively across teams.
• Confidence in using data and insight to guide decisions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, equality and volunteering legislation.
• Proactive, empathetic and inclusive approach.

Responsibilities

• Help shape how people connect with the National Trust across BCP.
• Champion inclusive, community-focused engagement with volunteers.
• Develop new ways for people to get involved and strengthen local partnerships.
• Support the volunteer journey and create rewarding volunteering experiences.
