Job summary

Bury Council's Community Educational Psychology Service is seeking an Educational Psychologist to provide psychological support across education and community settings. The role involves 1:1 mentoring with CYP, group work, and statutory assessment work, alongside training and service evaluation.

The post is full-time and permanent, with potential for part-time applications. Applicants must have HCPC registration or be in doctoral training (2nd/3rd year).

  • Experience with children in educational/clinical/community settings to promote wellbeing and progress.
  • Evidence-based use of psychological approaches to support practice.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training and development work, including wellbeing programmes and mental health support teams.
  • Lead innovative project work within the service.
  • Conduct group work with children, young people, families and communities.

About the role

Soulbury EP A scale (Point 4-9 + 3SPAs)
Full time, Permanent (Part-time applications will also be considered)
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Community Educational Psychology Service. You will play a core pare in the delivery of psychological services and support to education and community settings.

  • Training and development work, involving wellbeing programmes and mental health support teams
  • Innovative project work
  • Group work with children, young people, families and communities
  • 1:1 mentoring/therapeutic work with children and young people
  • Evaluation of service delivery
  • Administration
  • Direct individual work with CYP, including statutory assessment work

Requirements of the post:

  • - To be a qualified and experienced Educational Psychologist with HCPC registration, or in year 2 or 3 of doctoral training.
  • - Relevant experience of working with children in educational / clinical or community settings to promote children’s well-being and progress;
  • - Evidence of using psychological understanding and approaches to support practice;

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
