Job summary

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust's Oxfordshire Community Dental Service in Witney is seeking a motivated Dental Officer to deliver routine and urgent NHS care to adults with special needs and paediatric patients across a range of settings.

The role is offered as full or part-time, with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week (3 days), and a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, using local anaesthetic, sedation and GA as needed.

Qualifications

• Provide high quality NHS dental care for adult special care and paediatric patients.
• Liaise with hospitals, primary care and local authorities to improve patient care.
• Participate in governance, audits and training.
• Supervise dental care professionals where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality NHS dental care for adult special care and paediatric patients.
• Manage day-to-day activities of the dental surgery with the team.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Dental Care Professionals.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting to authorities.
• Collaborate with hospitals and local authorities to improve patient care.
• Engage in training, appraisal and governance activities.
• Participate in public health/epidemiological surveys and health promotion.
• Work flexibly in various locations as required.
