Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a part-time Community Center Aide at Sycamore Community Center under the Park & Recreation Department. The role supports programs and reservations and requires weekend work with a nontraditional schedule.

Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $21.76 per hour, with partial benefits for 29 hours weekly. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, six months in athletic services, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and six months of experience in athletic services and programs; some custodial experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid, and AED certification during the first six months of employment.
  • Preferred: bilingual English/Spanish speaking skills; previous customer service experience; strong computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating and executing programs and reservations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for weekend reservations and leagues, addressing inquiries and managing member check-ins for programs and athletic field reservations.
  • Carry out various facility maintenance tasks, including custodial duties and light maintenance around the athletic fields; may involve litter pickup and preparing softball/baseball fields.
  • Commit to working weekends and flexible hours as needed.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting, depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises.

Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
