Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is hiring a Sports Assistant for Killamarsh Active in Sheffield. This role involves ensuring the activity programme runs on time, maintaining cleanliness, and engaging with customers of all ages. Candidates must be physically fit, familiar with sports activities, and capable of handling various facility management tasks.

The position offers a competitive salary of £13.05 to £13.47 per hour, along with a Local Government Pension Scheme and generous leave entitlement. A willingness to work at different locations is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the activity programme runs on time, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, meeting and greeting customers, and working in a team environment. They may also manage the facility in the absence of a Duty Officer.

• Ability to carry out cleaning tasks thoroughly

• Managing the facility in the absence of a Duty Officer

The successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure carried out by the DBS at the Enhanced Level.

The post is normally based at Killamarsh Sports Centre but the successful candidate must be willing to work at any of the council’s establishments should the need arise.
