Job summary

Barking & Dagenham Council is seeking an enthusiastic Best Start Early Language and Communication Support Worker to help children aged 0-5 develop essential language skills. You will deliver evidence-based early intervention programmes and work with families across the borough.

You will travel across Barking and Dagenham, lead Peeple Programme sessions, support group work and maintain accurate records while safeguarding children and promoting inclusive home learning environments.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, families or communities and understanding of early intervention.
• Ability to travel across the borough to deliver services in various settings.
• Willingness to undertake Peeple Practitioner accreditation within three months.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of community-based Peeple programmes and group sessions.
• Provide one-to-one family support and create positive home learning environments.
• Collaborate with Family Hubs, schools, health professionals and partners.
• Maintain accurate records, protect data and follow safeguarding procedures.
