Job summary

Salisbury City Council is seeking a Communities Manager to lead operational delivery of community work from Bemerton Heath Centre, Salisbury. The role involves managing people, programmes, budgets and facilities, and working with residents and partners to meet Salisbury’s Community Strategy priorities.

We expect strong organisational, communication and safeguarding skills, plus the ability to drive initiatives across multiple sites. A full driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication
• Sound safeguarding awareness and inclusive service delivery
• Experience in budgeting and resource management
• Project planning and stakeholder coordination
• Ability to travel between sites with a valid driving licence

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational delivery of communities’ work including people, programmes and facilities
• Supervise staff and build partnerships with residents and community partners
• Manage budgets and financial planning for community projects
• Coordinate and plan community activities aligned with Salisbury Strategy 2026-29
• Ensure safeguarding obligations and health and safety standards are met
