The Royal Academy of Arts is currently looking to appoint a Communications Officer (Email Marketing & Campaigns) to join our Content, Communications & Campaigns department.
The Communications Officer will play a crucial role in delivering campaigns and projects aimed at increasing visitor numbers. This role will work effectively across many of the RA’s public-facing channels, including marketing email, website, and social media, while developing specialist skills in email marketing and campaign marketing to drive revenue, reach, and engagement with audiences.
To be considered for this role, you should have previous experience in delivering effective marketing activities across different channels, including developing copy and content for email newsletters, paid social, and other digital marketing. Experience in using data and understanding audience segments to inform campaign planning is also essential.
You will be able to effectively prioritize and organize a broad range of tasks, build and maintain excellent relationships, and manage a range of internal and external stakeholders.
The RA was founded in 1768, when a group of artists and architects persuaded King George III to help establish a society for promoting the art of design. The original academy was located in Pall Mall. Since then, the RA has evolved but remains committed to bringing art and design to a broad audience and championing artists.
Today, we are a contemporary art organization hosting internationally acclaimed exhibitions. We invest in employee training and development, offering courses such as Unconscious Bias, LGBTQ+ Awareness, Bystander, and Mental Health First Aid, fostering a safe space for everyone. We also have Employee Network Groups, Ways In Groups, and an Employee Council, ensuring every employee’s voice can be heard by colleagues and leadership.
The RA is a unique place both as an attraction and as a workplace. Our staff include professionals from exhibitions, curators, art handlers, researchers, publishers, digital teams, education, visitor services, fundraisers, and corporate support.
