Job description

Job Title: Communications Executive

Contract: Permanent

Location: Head Office

Department: Marketing

Salary band: £28,840- £35,020

What’s the job?

Baltic Apprenticeships is growing fast - and we need someone who wants to grow with it. We're looking for a Communications Executive who's ready for real ownership of how we show up across social, email and internal communications. This isn't a support role sitting behind someone else's strategy - it's your channel, your delivery, your call on what lands and what doesn't.

No two weeks look the same. One day you're building the social content calendar and testing what actually resonates with our audience; the next you're shaping email campaigns, coordinating creative for the launch of a brand-new programme, or running the room in our internal comms meetings. You'll also get to activate our industry partnerships and memberships - putting Baltic in front of the right people and making sure we get full value and visibility from every relationship.

You'll play a key part in shaping how our brand voice evolves over time - collaborating with external partners where relevant, and making sure it comes through consistently everywhere Baltic shows up. That includes checking what the rest of the team writes, from Content to wider marketing output, so the whole business sounds like one Baltic, not several.

You'll bring our brand voice to life across every channel we touch, trusted to make the day-to-day calls on tone and execution from day one - backed by an experienced, fast-moving marketing team who'll support your ideas, not just hand you a brief. If you want to build something real, see your work everywhere from social to business-wide comms, and grow fast in a business that's moving fast itself - this is the role.

You'll report into our Demand Generation Manager, working shoulder-to-shoulder with a close-knit, ambitious marketing team in a genuinely fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Audience Engagement
  • Own and maintain Baltic’s social media calendar across relevant channels
  • Plan, produce, schedule and publish social content aligned with Baltic’s brand, commercial priorities and wider marketing strategy
  • Adapt campaign, long-form and business content into engaging social formats
  • Grow audience reach and engagement through consistent publishing, testing and optimisation
  • Support sales and demand-generation priorities through coordinated social activity
  • Monitor channel performance and use insight to improve future content
Email & Campaign Communications
  • Write and edit email content aligned with Baltic’s brand, sales, employer-engagement and demand-generation priorities
  • Adapt core campaign content for different audiences, channels and stages of the customer journey
  • Develop subject lines, messaging and content variations to support testing and optimisation
  • Support the build, scheduling, delivery and reporting of email campaigns
  • Review content performance and recommend improvements to messaging and creative
Brand Voice & Editorial Quality
  • Apply and maintain Baltic’s internal and external tone of voice, messaging and verbal identity, as set by our brand partners
  • Ensure communications are clear, consistent and appropriate for the intended audience
  • Copyedit and quality-assure internal and external documents, campaigns and communications
  • Support the roll-out of adoption of tone-of-voice guidance, templates and messaging frameworks across the business
  • Provide colleagues with practical guidance on applying Baltic’s brand voice consistently
Internal Brand & Communications
  • Coordinate Baltic’s internal communications calendar across relevant teams and channels
  • Establish and facilitate a regular internal brand and communications meeting with People, Social Value and Quality
  • Work with these teams to create a joined-up strategy for promoting culture, employee initiatives, social value, quality achievements and business milestones
  • Support the communication and promotion of internal initiatives
  • Help ensure internal materials - including policies, onboarding packs and employee communications - are current, clearly written and consistently branded
  • Support the management and quality of content published through Baltic’s internal communication channels
Creative Coordination
  • Brief and collaborate with the Creative Designer on assets required for social media, email, internal communications and wider campaigns
  • Ensure creative briefs clearly explain the audience, objective, message, format and deadline
  • Coordinate copy and creative production so campaigns are delivered accurately and on time
  • Maintain visibility of upcoming communication requirements across the marketing team
Partnerships & Memberships
  • Coordinate the activation of Baltic’s brand partnerships, memberships and industry relationships
  • Maintain visibility of available opportunities, events, content placements and promotional activity
  • Work with internal stakeholders to maximise the value and profile Baltic receives from memberships
  • Communicate relevant opportunities and benefits to the wider business
  • Track activity and provide updates on how memberships and partnerships are being used
Essential Skills:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a marketing, communications or content role
  • Excellent written English, with the ability to adapt tone of voice across different channels and audiences
  • Experience growing engagement or audience reach across social and/or email channels
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines at once
  • Confident, clear copywriter with a strong eye for detail
  • Comfortable working across social media platforms and content scheduling tools
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take real ownership of a channel
  • Strong collaboration skills, comfortable working cross-functionally with other teams
