Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of communication strategies for global business initiatives.
  • Translate business priorities into communication plans and delivery activities.
  • Provide communication advice to stakeholders within established communication frameworks.
  • Identify communication risks and escalation matters where appropriate.
  • Monitor communication outcomes and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Apply ALS' communications policies, governance and brand standards across all communication activities.
  • Manage assigned global communication programs and initiatives, taking responsibility for planning, delivery and stakeholder coordination.
  • Develop employee communication, leadership messages, presentations, intranet content and communication toolkits.
  • Support global communication programs, including organisational change, employee engagement initiatives, leadership communication and business updates.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent across regions and aligned with ALS' strategic priorities.
  • Develop media materials, corporate messaging, website content, social media copy and client communication.
  • Support reputation management and corporate affairs activities.
  • Assist with issues and crisis communication as required.
  • Produce clear, engaging and accurate communication for a wide range of audiences.
  • Translate technical or complex information into accessible language.
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of writing, editing and proofreading, ensuring consistency and alignment with ALS’ messaging and positioning.
  • Ensure all communication align with ALS' brand, style and tone of voice.
  • Build strong working relationships across the global business, acting as a key connection between regional stakeholders and the Global Communication team to ensure communication priorities, opportunities and emerging issues are shared and aligned.
  • Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across the business to understand communication needs and recommend appropriate communication approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with regional communication, marketing and subject matter experts to deliver integrated communication outcomes.
  • Manage assigned work priorities while working within agreed communication plans and governance frameworks.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the global Communication team, contributing to shared priorities and collective outcomes.
  • Maintain regular communication and effective handovers to ensure continuity, visibility and consistent decision-making across time zones.

Purpose

The Global Communication Specialist supports the delivery of ALS' global communication strategy by developing and delivering high-quality internal and external communication that strengthens the ALS brand, protects its reputation and supports business priorities. Based in Europe, the role extends the capability of the Global Communication team across time zones, strengthening connections across the business and supporting the consistent delivery of global communication. Working closely with the Group Communication Director and Senior Global Communication Specialist, the role works with stakeholders across the business to support communication strategies, develop engaging content and deliver communication plans that align with ALS' strategic objectives. The role works with a high degree of autonomy in day-to-day delivery while operating within established communication strategies, governance frameworks and agreed priorities. As a member of the Global Communication team, the role contributes to a consistent, coordinated approach across regions, ensuring communication activities are aligned, audience focused and delivered to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic communication
  • Support the development and delivery of communication strategies for global business initiatives
